Gambler's Choice Obstacle Schooling Show Series 2019

About:

  • Gamblers choice means you will choose the obstacles you want to complete. You will have 2-3 minutes in the ring depending on the class to do as many obstacles as you can. Each obstacle is worth a set number of points. You earn the points of every obstacle you complete correctly (for example go over the jump without knocking the pole). The  winner is the one with the most points. You can repeat an obstacle a maximum of twice, and you must do another obstacle in between. 
  • A horse/rider combination may compete once per class. A horse or rider can compete multiple times in the same class with a different partner. 
  • English or Western Tack. Bitless bridles allowed. 
  • We will do placings to 6th. 
  • At the end of the year at the last show in December we will do year end awards for the champion and reserve champion for each class. This will be determined based on points from placings - 1st place is 6 points, 2nd place is 5 points, 3rd place is 4 points, 4th place is 3 points, 5th place is 2 points, 6th place is 1 point. 
  • Optional schooling is $20 and begins at 12:00pm. The first class begins at 1pm
  • The show is held indoors, and weather permitting may be held outdoors in the warmer months. 
  • One registration form per horse/rider combination.

Classes

Optional practice over the obstacles from 12-1pm prior to the show start time at 1pm.

This class is unmounted (not riding) and is available to everyone.

Available to any horse or pony that have not competed in more than 3 obstacle related shows prior to January 1, 2019.
Horses or ponies in this class can be ridden or taken in hand (not ridden).

This class is for riders that have competed less than 10 gamblers choice obstacles, extreme cowboy, or other related obstacle show prior to January 1, 2019 AND have NOT received at least 3 top 3 finishes (provided there were at least 6 competitors or more).

Is available to any youth (aged 18 or younger as of January 1, 2019).

Is available to any adult (aged 19 or older as of January 1, 2019).

Optional Stalls are available if you would like a place to keep your horse during the day. Includes shavings.
