Harmony Horsemanship Student Level Assessments

- A great opportunity to earn your student levels, set a goal, see your progress, and prepare for show season.
- This is similar to a competition with tests and tasks, but you aren't judged against other people. Instead you are trying to score 80% on your own level.
- You can earn your Harmony Horsemanship Student Level Certificate and Student Level Gift. The HH Student Levels are a requirement for trail riding at PHH and becoming a future certified HH instructor.
- Assessments include groundwork, riding, and a multiple choice knowledge quiz
- The tasks for each level are published on giant charts in the indoor arena - you can work with your coach to learn all of the tasks within a level
- On assessment day you can sign up for more than one level.
- On assessment day we will go through each of the tasks on the chart and you are scored out of 5 marks for each task. You need an overall score of 80% to pass and earn your certificate and student level gift (for example for Level 1 is a treat pouch that is exclusive to Student Level 1 graduates.
- The assessments will be in groups. For example there might be 5 people testing for Level 1 and they will be in the arena all at the same time. The task will be announced, for example "everyone demonstrate square at the walk" and everyone will complete the task and is scored. Then we move on to the next task. There will be a break between groundwork and riding so you have time to tack up and prepare.
- Attire - you don't need full show attire (although you can wear show attire). Please dress neatly and professionally (collar shirt, proper riding pants or jeans (for western))
- Registration closes July 5
Schedule - 7pm
- 7pm: Level 1 and 2 Assessments (start with groundwork)
- 8pm: Level 3 or beyond Assessments
- Assessments start with all ground work skills (horse can be saddled or not), then you will complete the riding component and finish with the horse knowledge quiz.
