After July 1, 2019, all parents (for athletes under 18), athletes, coaches and officials need to provide confirmation every year that they have reviewed one of the concussion awareness resources (Rowan’s Law).
Concussions are very serious and can lead to permanent brain damage or death. It is important to recognize the symptoms of a concussion (a person only needs 1 symptom to be diagnosed with a concussion, and does not need to have hit their head to have a concussion).
Teens are especially susceptible to brain damage from a concussion because of their development stage.
It is important to allow rest, see a medical doctor, and follow the return to sport and return to school strategies for a concussion.
Please check this box to confirm you and your child(ren) have reviewed the concussion awareness resources for this year.
